One Rack, Multiple Uses

Sometimes the simplest designs are the most useful. This client designed a rack that can carry both a kayak and a bike using a standard receiver hitch. The goal was simple: make it strong enough for the highway, easy to install, and versatile enough to handle different types of gear.


Built Around the Need

For this project we:

  • Built the frame from square tubing for strength and low weight

  • Used 1/8 inch aluminum plate at key connection points

  • Designed it to mount directly into a standard receiver hitch

  • Created support points for both a kayak and a bicycle

  • Kept installation simple and straightforward


THE BIYACK Rack

What we like about projects like this is that they often become more useful than originally intended. Today it's carrying a kayak and bike. Tomorrow it could be camping gear, recovery equipment, surfboards, hunting gear, or something completely different.
